Are there bathrooms aboard the Black Sparrow?

No, but there are restrooms available at the Marina.

Should I bring Sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat?

Absolutely! The whole adventure takes approximately an hour and five minutes so plan accordingly.

Can I bring a camera?

YES! Capture the moment!

Do you take reservations for smaller families or do we need to be with a large group?

Families of all sizes are welcome! You do not need to be part of a large group to enjoy a trip on the Black Sparrow. Our trips are fun for families of two or twenty. All will take part in the adventure!

What time should I arrive?

You MUST show up at least 30 minutes prior to your departure time so your child / children may be dressed in pirate gear and have their face painted.

Do I need a reservation?

We highly recommend that you make a reservation as we have a limited capacity aboard the Black Sparrow for any sailing time. This capacity count includes all people on board including infants through adults and is set by the Coast Guard. We will not be able to accomodate even the smallest passenger once we reach maximum capacity. No exceptions can be made.

Can I reserve the Black Sparrow for Adult Parties?

Is the Black Sparrow fun for girls too?

Absolutely! Our young lady mates have a wonderful time onboard the Black Sparrow. We host many parties and events for young ladies. Throughout history there have been many infamous female pirates that have sailed the seven seas.

What do you do if it rains?

We sail in a light rain or drizzle,but we do not sail if the conditions are determined, by the captain, to be unsafe. Please keep in mind that a 30% chance of rain means there is a 100% chance of treasure. If your trip is cancelled we will contact you at least one hour prior to sailing with a reschedule or full refund.

Do we need to bring life jackets, should my child wear a life jacket?

We have enough life jackets for everyone. However, our life jackets are built for safetly rather than comfort. You are more than welcome to bring your own life vest from home. However, since we are a Coast Guard certified vessel our mini-mates are not required to wear them while onboard.

Do we leave the dock?

Yes. We are an interactive treasure hunt for children and we sail around Peanut Island.

Are the waters rough? Will I get sea-sick?

We sail in safe protected waters. The only waves we may come across are from other boat wakes in the intercoastal. We sail around Peanut Island which is calm. There is plenty of water around Peanut Island at both high and low tide to navigate safely.

Is there any food on the boat?

No, we do not sell any food or beverages on board, but feel free to bring your own snack or drink. Water may be purchased at the dock.
NOTE: There are no bathrooms onboard the ship, however there are free bathrooms at the dock you may use before or after the trip.

Can we have a birthday cake on board?

Is it scary for the kids?

We are extremely child friendly and our program is geared to involve all the children. We are gentle, happy pirates...not scary ones. Your children will have become part of our pirate family during the trip!
